AGROFOOD BIC CALL 2020
Agrofood BIC, the new Accelerator promoted by Granarolo, Conserve Italia, Camst, Eurovo, Ima and Gellify is launching Agrofood BIC Call 2020, a 500,000 euro international/national call aimed at supporting 5 teams, spinoffs and start-ups in the fields of nutrition&health and new sustainable packaging contributing with the overarching aim of the European Green Deal.
Aims of the call
Turning the high innovation potential of young people, researchers, start-ups who think they have a winning idea into new business realities. Agrofood BIC S.r.l. will support promising innovators in converting their ideas into real business initiatives, helping them overcome all organisational, operational and strategic challenges; will help bringing together young companies, the world of work and investors, combining incubation/acceleration services with specific skills with the aim of launching their business ideas on the market; will support the initial development of start-ups by providing them with pilot plants, R&D assistance, business development, marketing and accounting, coaching by professionals and consultants, access to a network of relationships in the world of business and credit and making available dedicated offices, shared spaces and IT facilities.

► Packaging is becoming an important factor in the growth and success of products: innovative, customer-centric, sustainable packaging can deliver significant benefits to consumer and brands, while containing its environmental impact.
► 20% of food wastes result during the processing, storage and transport steps. Extended shelf-life of food leads to a reduction of food wastes, a subject for which consumers are very sensitive, and an interesting marketing lever for the food industry.
► When it comes to packaging innovation, the following main areas are now being explored: sustainable packaging (plastic free or bioplastics) and smart or active packaging.
Young start-ups, spinoffs, researchers, professionals, PhD holders and PhD students. Also graduate and undergraduate students can apply (max. 5 teams are expected to be funded).
Submission of applications using the online system by 27 September 2020. The list of selected projects will be made public by December 2020.
Agrofood Bic, at its sole discretion, and without the candidates having anything to claim, reserves the right to terminate the Call at any time, terminate the process of selection and evaluation of candidates, partially use the allocated budget, propose alternative investment formulas (e.g. convertible, aucap, mixed ...) or decide not to make any investment at all.
Agrofood Bic will always and in any case respect the intellectual property of the ideas of individuals and start-ups in every situation.
