The annual consortium meeting of DELISOIL project will take place in Vic, Catalonia, from Monday 11th May to Wednesday 13th May.  By embracing a circular approach DELISOIL aims to enhance soil health and productivity, contributing to the EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe,” the Farm to Fork Strategy, and broader Circular and Bioeconomy Strategies and Plans. The consortium meeting will bring together project partners for three days of discussion and collaboration. Organized by BETA Tech. Centre (UVic-UCC), in close coordination with the Executive Board, the meeting will focus on ongoing activities, recent results, and the alignment of future research directions.

The meeting is organised by BETA Tech. Centre (UVic-UCC) and will be held in hybrid format. As leader of Work Package 2 “Soil Health improvement”, ENEA contributes to advancing core project activities related to soil health, supporting knowledge integration across partners. The main highlights and future challenges of WP2 will be presented by Dr. Luciana Di Gregorio (Laboratory Innovation of Agri-food Chains) on behalf of WP2 leader Dr. Annamaria Bevivino (Division Sustainable Agri-Food Systems).

As part of the scientific dissemination activities, the ENEA PhD students Lorenzo Nolfi (University La Tuscia) and Arianna Bindo (University of Turin) will present two posters highlighting recent research developments, in the session dedicated to the Early Career Researchers (ECR) network: 1) DeliSoil: From Circular Waste to Healthy Soil through Data Intelligence, focusing on data-driven approaches to optimize the use of circular amendments; 2) Biochar-based Soil Improvers and Microbial Amendments Shape Functional Rhizosphere Microbial Communities in Tomato Fields, addressing the role of innovative soil treatments in shaping rhizosphere microbial communities under field conditions.

The meeting will be attended by Dr. Andrea Visca and Dr. Luciana Di Gregorio (Laboratory Innovation of Agri-food Chains) (in person), by PhD students Lorenzo Nolfi and Arianna Bindo (in person) and by the ENEA project coordinator Dr. Annamaria Bevivino and ENEA project staff (online).
