Second Year Annual ForestNavigator Consortium Meeting. Mid-Project Key Achievements and work in progress.

Foresta

The consortium of the Horizon project ForestNavigator (Navigating European Forests and forest bioeconomy sustainably to EU climate neutrality) met on October 16th and 17th 2024 in Potsdam, Germany, at the WIS Bildungsforum. The occasion was the second Annual Meeting, attended by all project partners and some external stakeholders, including institutional representatives.

The agenda included the presentation of strategic objectives achieved so far, a discussion on short-term goals still to be reached, and an overview of long-term results to be developed.

ENEA participated in the event with the Department for Sustainability, represented by researchers Melania Michetti and Fabio Eboli. In particular, Melania Michetti presented recent progress in the project’s WP4, focusing on the development of a Choice Experiment designed to gather individual preferences through survey data.

The questionnaire for the statistical survey will be launched shortly in four European countries (Italy, Czech Republic, Ireland, Sweden) and will involve a total of 5,000 participants. The aim is to estimate European citizens' willingness to pay for cultural and recreational forest ecosystem services.

The meeting was considered highly effective by all participants, as it fostered progress on various fronts. The topics discussed and the decisions made during the parallel sessions, in which all partners participated with great collaborative spirit, significantly contributed to advancing the project.
